Horse Fence Wire
Our Innovative Horse Fence Wire Design is Affordable, Safe, and Resilient
Animal safety is a topic which our founder at Think Fencing (leading PVC fencing suppliers in Australia), holds very dear. Back in the 1990s, our founder, Jack Fitzgerald, found his horse seriously hurt and hopelessly tangled in its fence one morning. Any horse owner likely understands the shock and stress of that kind of experience. Fences are designed specifically so nothing can get in and harm our animals, and so our animals cannot wander off and hurt themselves. This inspired Jack to pioneer two forms of horse fence wires that are now widely used across Australia: Zappa rail and Equirail.
Since then, we’ve grown from a small fencing company to a respected provider of fencing for thoroughbred racetracks, stables, and horse owners not just in Australia but worldwide. Our horse safe fencing does look good, keeps your animals protected, can be installed on existing fencing, and can be adjusted to suit your specific needs. We deliver all over the country, and if you’re not comfortable installing the fencing on your own, we may even be able to help you find a professional who has worked with us before in your area. When we make fencing easy, we don’t make it unsafe; as professionals, we don’t need to compromise anywhere, so you can be sure you’re getting the best for yourself and your animals. Read More
Zappa and Equirail
What exactly are these two kinds of horse fence wires? What are their benefits?
Zappa is our affordable and widely bought horse fencing; it consists of two high tensile wires attached to the top and bottom of a UV-resistant polymer rail. Once you’ve attached the rail to the posts already in place, you can tighten and straighten out the wires and the rail as much as you like. Thanks to the rail being made of polymer and not wood, no unexpected impact will expose your horse to splinters or large shards. The tensile wires also offer enough give to prevent your horse from becoming stuck, panicking, and hurting itself in its desperation. For more detail, you can read the full description under the “Zappa Rail Horse Fencing” page.
Equirail is very similar to Zappa, with just a few differences. Equirail does not have the two tensile wires but relies on a tightly adjusted polymer rail that’s resistant to up to 800 kg of strain without risking any harm to your horses. Equirail is also not easily electrified, unlike Zappa. However, this fencing is still sleek, reliable, and has incredible longevity, just like all our available fences.
Guides for Our DIY Customers
As far as we’re concerned, our job doesn’t stop at selling you materials. That’s why we have several video and PDF tutorials on our website to guide you through installing your fence. If you want to put up your new Zappa or Equirail yourself, you can go to the appropriate tabs and click on the carefully paced and clear guides there, both in video and document form.
On the other hand, if you prefer to hire someone to install your new fence, Think Fencing’s Find an Installer service can potentially help you locate your nearest professional. By providing us with your postcode and some basic details, we can check for contractors near you, and we may even be able to find someone who has worked with our products before.
